New Site For Everyone - For Sale or Swap

For Sale Or Swap - www.forsaleorswap.co.uk
 – In our opinion is the quickest, easiest, cheapest way of selling or swapping your unwanted new or used items. If you are looking for something then then post a wanted add.

There is even a place for all those budding entrepreneurs to sell their wares.

Naturally there are some rules but not too many and mainly common sense.

At the moment the service is FREE just whilst we get things up and running and spread the word.

Then we will charge but unlike some free services you will get a much better experience and more control. Unlike some paid for options you do not get charged each and every time you sell or indeed do not sell stuff.
One fee – you just need to decide on monthly or annual – Then you list as many items as you want in that period.

Several images of the same item - no charge!
Video - on the list of future features.
Easy to search and locate items from sellers or area.
Sellers and buyers can easily share items via social links increasing exposure.

We wanted to keep things straightforward and value for money and do not want to over complicate matters for what should be a simple task…. List, Discuss, Pick up, Sell, Move on!

The concept is also to keep everyone’s cost down and maximise profit. With that in mind you simply pick your local area (broken down into local boroughs)  and when you come to make a purchase you contact the seller and arrange to pick up the item (unless they wish to drop off).
Because the area is local and of a reasonable size, chances are you will find what you want and be within a reasonable distance to pick it up.

Inspect the item and if happy – pay!

Win - Win

However, we are always open to suggestions and constructive feedback and indeed actively encourage it!
If you think we are missing a trick or can add a valued feature we are all ears!! Drop us a line.

Tesco Bank - Call, post but NO email !!??

Infuriating!
No email address via Tesco banking.
In this day and age they should have one - that's the first thing.

Next is this incessant ludicrousness that surrounds so called "data protection"
If in doubt quote data protection seems to be the mantra of these companies.
The vast majority of these claims under this heading are untrue, inaccurate and unfounded in law.

Finally, at least for this rant anyway, access everything online from your shopping habits to your inside leg measurements. Open an account, check details, move money across the world and spend 10mins just logging in with more layers of security questions than the earths crust and all this without one of the most basic forms of communication via the net - email.

Come on Tesco you know your wrong and you know it is just time and effort required to deal with the influx you would get if email were available.

As a side note...funny how i can communicate with several online bank and card accounts via mail without any issues or flannel about data protection.

Would like to hear your experiences folks

Reasons Why Paypal is Not Authorized in Pakistan

Reasons Why Paypal is Not Authorized in Pakistan     It has been plaguing the minds of many to know that Paypal is simply not authorized in certain countries. Pakistan is one country where Paypal is not authorized, along with a few other countries around the world. There are a few reasons as to why this is so. First of all, Paypal, which is a US company, does not give an exact reason why this is so, but one can only speculate. Paypal engages in business practices with countries where there is a business alliance or agreement that has been previously reached. Certain countries, one being Pakistan, have not proceeded with a business agreement with US based Paypal and therefore, does not work with them on a one on one basis. The business alliances that have not been allotted with countries like Pakistan deal with trade issues and other financial reasoning’s. The reality is that countries like Pakistan are not any different from countries that Paypal authorizes in their technological concepts per se, but the fact is that the foreign policies are different, and Paypal has not made an agreement with them as of yet. Other countries that do not authorize Paypal include Bangladesh, Nigeria, Iran and Nepal.   Another reason that Paypal is not authorized in certain countries like Pakistan is that Pakistan and other specific countries either do not have a high enough return on the investment that Paypal is looking to acquire and/or the countries do not provide a safe enough service guarantee that Paypal finds adequate. Lastly, Paypal is looking to work with countries that have an inexpensive start-up potential and some of these countries like Pakistan have simply a much too expensive start-up capital for Paypal, and they simply don’t find working with these specific countries a financially sound decision.

Hanedan Ocakbasi Restaurant review - Icmeler Turkey

This is our second visit to Icmeler and one of the highlights is always food. We love our food!
We were so glad to see that Hanedan was still here but had it changed like so many other eating places in the area!?
I am happy to report it hasn't unless you count the fact that if anything it's even better. If you are looking for burger, chips, pizza and so on...keep walking! If you are looking for great Turkish food, or just great food full stop, then pay them a visit.
The prices are unbelievable, naturally helped by the exchange rate. The owners and staff are fantastic and attentive. Located midway between the old town and the sea front it's a nice leisurely walk in either direction. A walk you will be grateful of after the meal as well as they are not shy on portions!

We met up with friends this time around and all four of us shared the same high opinion of Hanedan and two years on they continue where others have fallen into oblivion or worse yet for us chosen to English-fi their menus. My word for trying to grasp at any kind of business they can.
Trust me if it continues down that road we shall not be returning. If you are like us and want more Turkish from Turkey then support Hanedan please!

Well that's my bit for now. The suns rising and warming up my forehead and iPad but I just had to post this even before getting home ... Enjoy Icmeler , Turkey and all the traditional things it has to offer. And remember, it's us that make these places what they are much of the time!

ince apartments icmeler Turkey - Review

ince apartments icmeler - Review

You get what you pay for and pay for what you get!

Well as the title suggests this review will be about what you do and don't get for your money here at the Ince apartments.

Upon arrival you have to actually ask the people around the pool where to go. At which point you get directed to the bar. Which sounds like a joke but it's actually reception as well.
The barman then escorts you to your room.
The rooms are admittedly very clean, in fact excellent, and remain so throughout your stay. However the same cannot be said of the cleaners themselves. By that I mean the body odour emanating from them is apparent in our room long after they have vacated.
The view from our balcony, overlooking pool and bar area, was great and we were very pleased with its overall location.

The price of staying here is reflected in the price of air conditioning which at the time of writing this was a hefty £6 a day and with the additional cost of a safe (£15 made up on the spot) is a sizeable chunk from an already tight budget.
This would be a good point to just slip in a reminder to those who have never been to Turkey before that you need a crisp £10 note per person to enter the country.
Anyway returning to the apartments... We were left with a key and fob which you have to place in the slot on the wall for power. Obviously you seasoned travellers will not think twice about this simple act however we were never instructed on this little task.
In this day and age we all tend to have a plethora of electrical items which we bring on holiday but do we give any thought to charging them?
I suggest you do... You cannot leave the fob in the slot when you are out and about. They made double sure of this by glueing the metal ring so that the fob cannot be separated from the key!
This effectively means you need to bring a lot of adapters so that you can charge all your devices at once by plugging them into the most inconveniently located sockets throughout the apartment during the times you are in.
Watch out for the kettle it only switches off every blue moon.
If you do like a nice slice of toast or fancy something on toast in your self catering apartment, forget it. No grill and no toaster.
Towels...same old story...it started off okay and people came, put a towel down and used the bed. Then as more people came later in the week it got to the point where someone put towels out the night before and those who did have the decency to wait to the following day were putting them on first thing and then not turning up to use them until midday or later! This created an avalanche of early droppers so the beds filled up very early.
That said it did seem that enough beds were available for everyone, albeit not necessary where you might want them if you missed the early dawn stampede.
Pool....this was large enough and clean. However, and this is purely my opinion here, I am not sure enough (if much at all) chlorine was added to the pool. I have been in enough pools to know what is to much and about average. This seemed almost non existent to be honest.

Do not leave you air-bed out... May be a one off but when we went in along with most others, a couple of teenage lads thought it a good idea to dive bomb on a few of the airbeds left by the poolside. They burst them all and left one at the bottom of the pool. The thing is this should have been stopped by the staff.
Food....hit and miss...we ate here three times. Lunch seemed quite promising and the portions were rather large for lunch but no complaints about that.
Our second meal was a wrap and chips. The wrap was average at best but the chips were an abomination. So greasy, soggy and partially cooked it was impossible to eat. They were so limp they almost bent double under there own weight.
The last meal was a breakfast....iffy ... Far too much oil on the plate mainly from the eggs. Left the toast, if you can call it that, very soggy as well.
When eating around the bar area watch out for ants. Lots and lots of ants trooping across from one half of the bar area to their nest. Despite the area being washed down every so often ants are numerous and resilient !
The range of drinks is limited but adequate I suppose. However do not expect to be able to bring your own food or drink to consume around the pool as they frown upon this in this "self catering" apartment block and they do enforce it.
One would have thought in 40 plus temperatures that an ice cream would be on the list of treats available. Think again. We had to go out of the block to the shop and bring it back to our room to eat it.
Back in the room and after a good nights sleep....oh that's right we didn't get a good nights sleep. The beds are very uncomfortable. So much so that we ended up sleeping on a slightly less uncomfortable sofa bed using sheets from the single beds and making do.
This had its own issues not least of which was the width. Sardines springs to mind but still favourable to springs up ya jacksiee.
If you do choose to sleep in the actual beds you will find that the mattress has one sheet on and only a weave type cover for the top, which is rather rough.

Finally, it was not paranoia when I say this but because we spent less than some people around the bar we noticed a distinct lack of warmth towards us shall we say. This was noticed by others. The other reviews do say that they are really friendly and no doubt those reviewers spent far more money at the Ince than we did, hence the best bar man in town probably "earned" his title.

We paid a visit to another couple of apartments whist in Icmeler and the difference overall is staggering and all for a relatively small amount more.
Remember, most of the cost goes on flights not the accommodation. Most places are relatively cheap here even the more expensive ones.

In conclusion if you bear certain aspects in mind and you go in the knowledge this is a no frills apartment you will be fine.
Overall we had a wonderful relaxing time in a very nice clean apartment.
Would we stay at the Ince again? Probably not for a few reasons but mainly because of the beds.

More pictures of the apartment and Icmeler will be sent direct to my facebook - johncsweet.co.uk

OXO Good Grips Y Peeler - Review

OXO Good Grips Y Peeler - Review

Gone but not forgotten.
We have had one of these for a few months and it is indeed worthy of the 84plus 4 & 5 star reviews on Amazon.

We recently lost it.
Well the fact is it would seem i am being blamed for throwing it away in the peelings ;-)

So we needed a peeler to get a job done ASAP and my wife borrowed one from her mum.

Straight away the difference was visibly noticeable in that it was a much smaller handle.
It was also a plastic body in comparison to the wider very grippy handle on the OXO one.
Hence the name Good Grips.

I started to peel and it didn't so much peel as take chunks out of the apples.
Even when i got to grips (no pun) with this borrowed one it still took more of the apple than it should. Peeler for goodness sake - clue is in the name!

So naturally i have just ordered a new one from Amazon (link below).
Check out the reviews - its not just me saying this you know.

Maybe a quid or two more (at the most) than a really cheap version.
Worth every penny.

Just ordered the box grater as well so will review that when i get it.

Paint Runner Review

Paint Runner - As the title says - What a waste of money!

I had seen this product advertised in a number of places and repeatedly on Ideal World so i figured i would finally bite the bullet and stump up the cash to make my life easier.

Wasn't happy about the fact that the paint HAD to be diluted.
Watching the hour long presentation i think it may have been mentioned once that you can or might have to dilute.

Anyway, i figured if it needed to be and it gave the results shown and expected then so be it.

After following the instructions i still had no joy with any sign of paint.
After several more attempts and nearly ending up with colored water in the roller i got what can only be described as intermittent smears across the wall.

To further add insult to injury two other design flaws raised there head.
Firstly the material that covers the roller has a seam in it. This causes a line to appear on the wall each time the roller is run on that area. That is when i could get any sign of paint to come out you understand.

Second, The end cap that supposed to seal in the paint works its way off after only a few minutes.
Fortunately i spotted this in sufficient time to prevent it from popping off altogether and spewing paint all over the show. I guess if it had at least there would have been some coverage on the wall.

If i could have rated less than 1 star i would have.
