UKMail - That Friday feeling

SO... am I just cursed to recieve bad service, or no service, from ALL the courier companies out there!?

Yet again it would seem I have been witness to the Friday feeling from one or more of UKMails employees.

To the point please see my email of complaint to UKMail only a few mins ago...

................

I wish to make a complaint.
After ordering an item from a seller who paid for 24hr delivery my item failed to arrive 2 days later.
I contacted the seller who gave me a tracking number (removed for security and upon investigation via  phone call to ukmail it would seem that the item was sat at you Manchester depot with no known reason why.
I also did a quick check via your site and it indicates that it was rearranged by the recipient. This is not true. The only reason i can assume this is showing maybe as a result of the conversation had on the telephone.
That aside it does not explain why I do not have my item and no doubt will not get it before Monday now!
This will be the third consecutive courier service I have had issues with of exactly the same nature.
They washed their hands of the matter with nothing more than an apology.
They ended up on my blog with a detailed account of the events. Will UKmail be joining them i wonder.
Is this yet another case of that Friday feeling by someone who couldn't be bothered to complete a load or delivery?
I await your response.

.............

I hope to give you an update soon and if you have had poor service from a courier then feel free to comment.
Its about time we got these companies to wake up and smell the coffee, or should that be the competition.

There is so far one service that I can highly recommend and I hope to be able to review them here at some point.
For now I need my missing parcel from UKMail.

Screwfix and Parcel Force - Bad Service Complaint ....

Below is a letter I have sent to both Parcel force and Screwfix.
I shall keep you posted on the outcome of this.

--------------------------------

I wish to make a complaint -
The below letter has been sent to both Parcel Force and Screwfix.
I expect, indeed insist on a response from both parties and suitable recompense.

I placed an order ref. ?????????
Parcel Force Tracking No. ????????

I specifically needed this order for Saturday delivery and I would have paid for the extra delivery charge but instead chose to add a few extras to my order to get the free delivery.

I received a text to tell me when the order would be with me via Parcel Force.

After that time came and went I checked via the tracking.

To my horror I found that it had “been delivered”
Not however to me!

There was a name and a signature of someone whom I do not know.

I contacted Parcel Force and they told me they only had the information that i could see on my own screen. After quite some time and a heated discussion they put me on hold, came back on, and the best they could say was it was delivered to No. 8.
I live at number 5 for one thing.
They could not be sure if it was even No 8 on my road.
I have not left the house all day and can see the front and rear of the property at all times.
Even if it had been delivered to No8 why was I not carded!?
I checked at No.8 (who does not even have the same name as that is shown on the tracking) and sure enough no sign of my order.

I was told to contact Screwfix as I may get further!
Parcel force said they could not do anything further until Monday! No use to me whatsoever!!

I then contacted Screwfix and explained the whole farce I had with Parcel Force.
I made it very clear just how annoyed and disgusted I was with them.

The lady said she would check with the courier and again a similar response came back which was that they would try to track it but if it cannot be done in the next couple of hours it would be Monday.
I yet again made it very clear that this was pointless and unacceptable and again the reason I paid extra for Saturday delivery, the reason I sat in waiting on the delivery and the fact that i needed the contents for a job I “had” tomorrow (Sunday).

She said there was nothing she could do.
I suggested that she reorder and have it delivered to me for Sunday and then chase up the missing delivery Monday.
After checking with her manager I was told they could not do that and that and I would have to wait for it to be traced first.

At this point I was livid!

So after receiving a diabolical service from Parcel Force I was subjected to a similar, or lack thereof, service from Screwfix further adding insult to injury!

After a pointless apology from the service representative the call was ended.

I then spent the next couple of hours driving round an array of Properties with No. 8 and No.5 as their house numbers.
All to no avail.

So after wasting an entire day waiting, calling, arguing, driving, knocking on doors, over a £100 down, a lost job, writing letters of complaint and being on the receiving end of some of the worst customer service from not one but two very large companies that should know better, I am none the wiser or any further forward.

I cannot quite put into words just how angry and annoyed I am at the way I have been treated and hope this finds the desk of someone who can in some-way address this in a more professional manner.

Kind Regards,

Update 8th Aug 2015

Sorry for the late update on the above.

Well firstly parcel force - the short update is they failed to do anything to resolve the complaint.
Adding to the annoyance by me and total disrespect shown to customers.
Furthermore this happened yet again the very next time I ordered from Screwfix!

As for Screwfix - I am very pleased to say that they responded in a polite and professional manner from start to end.
They dealt with my issues as best they could and I had a direct contact throughout.

I cannot give too much detail in respect of the resolution as I am sure you will appreciate things like this are dealt with on a cases by case basis.
Suffice to say that I could not be happier with the customer service after TWO such evens BOTH of which (or should that be niether of which) were as a direct result of Screwfix in the first instance.
Thank you Screwfix and you still have a loyal customer.

National Tyres - Be Warned - If you want to have your wheels damaged go right ahead!

WARNING - Anyone thinking of using National Tyres
PLEASE READ and SHARE !!

Here is what I posted on there page and they removed it and blocked me!
I am going to share this on here as a warning to others.
Chances are it will be removed but I will not let this matter drop as I am totally disgusted and outraged at National Tyres!
This is what I sent earlier today - I will try to keep this short and polite but i am very annoyed to be honest.

After a phone call to your Ashton under Lyne branch this morning to inquire as to the cost to have the two tyres repaired we were given a price.
However what the person failed to mention was that the cost is for each repair not each tyre.
We took the car in and this information was only then passed on to us.
As we were now in a catch 22 position we had no alternative but to have the work carried out.
I am not best pleased and this should have been clearly stated at the time.
I look forward to your response -

The response was somewhat less than satisfactory but I shall post it below to show a balanced view -
Hi John,
Our apology for the inconvenience that has been caused to you.
What should obviously occur is for a member of the branch to clarify the costs involved so that you are satisfied with the quote, but unfortunately there has been a miscommunication here and I apologise for this.
You can lodge a complaint of course via the contact form on the website and we will take recourse to re-educate the staff to better communicate themselves with valued customers like yourself.

NOW THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW! -
Having had to wait hours for the repairs to be carried out we receive a phone call to say that one of the tyres could not be repaired and that we would have to buy a new tyre.
Yet again stuck in a no win position as they say they have removed the nail which meant that we had NO CHOICE now but to buy a new tyre.
So instead of leaving it in place and ASKING if we would like a new tyre oh NO they take it out leaving us NO CHOICE!
SO... we reluctantly said ok.

OVER and hour later we went down to pick it up. NO phone call to say it was done!
Sure enough it was done - don't worry our time is not important !!
THEN - You will hopefully see by the picture we found damage to one of our alloy wheels!
This is just one of several pictures which i have available.
THREE of the spokes have actually been damaged !!

After being TOLD this was nothing that they had done and despite the fact that only that morning the car had been in for a service at Citroen, had a pre-service check and had a full valet before being returned, National Tyres still insisted this was nothing to do with them.
The manager has taken photos as well even though they denied it could possibly be them.
This has cost us DEARLY in Time and MONEY and will cost us yet more to have our wheel now repaired!!

I will NOT be letting this matter drop and will do all that i have at my disposal to ensure that I am either compensated or failing that I will make it my mission to contact as many people via any social media as I can on a regular basis to see that anyone and everyone reads this.

I know for a fact that others have had the same experience with other branches and I would like to hear from you here. Ideally with specifics and photos please!
